Ledgerbound Display and Settings
Windowed at last. Time pressure optional. Chat history shipped August 18.
Launch week turned Ledgerbound’s options menu into a patch changelog. Patch #1 (August 14, 2026) told players the game did not support super-ultra widescreen or windowed mode and had no plans for wider support — then listed Reset Battle as the escape hatch when a fight or save looped. Patch #2 (August 16) shipped windowed mode, additional resolutions, and the time-management gameplay setting in the same depot. This page is the settings map so you do not hunt Steam discussions for a toggle that already exists. Input bindings stay on Controls. Deck quirks stay on Steam Deck.
Display: what Patch 2 actually added
Patch 1’s known-issues list was honest about launch presentation: fullscreen-first, no windowed, no super-ultrawide promise. Two days later OmniMegaSuperCorp added windowed mode and extra resolution picks for non-standard displays. That is the line to trust — compatibility for odd monitors, not a guarantee of 32:9 gameplay. If your ultrawide still letterboxes, treat it as remaining limitation, not as a wiki omission.
Habits:
- Set windowed or a listed resolution before a long resterlude. Aggressive autosave will remember a crash in the middle of a Shareholder scene.
- After any depot, restart the client. Patch 1’s audio pass already taught people that mute barks can be a stale session.
- Pair display changes with GPU driver updates listed under System Requirements. A new window mode will not fix a minimum-spec stutter on Emberworks.
Gameplay: time management and burnout
The headline of Patch 2 is not the window chrome. It is a setting that dramatically reduces Time Management so burnout and rest costs hurt less. Full explanation: Time and Burnout. Put the toggle next to your romance policy. Default pressure is the calendar puzzle. Reduced pressure is for players who came for tactics and VO and found the hour tax louder than the joke.
The setting does not:
- Add manual save slots.
- Restore a locked confession.
- Put Uninsured back. Patch 2 removed that difficulty to streamline modes. See Difficulty.
Reset Battle (Patch 1 reminder)
Patch 1’s sanitation note: if battle issues persist and your save is not functioning after updating, use Reset Battle from title screen settings. The same hotfix listed auto-saver crash/reload loops as a known issue and said Reset Battle may resolve them. That is a last resort, not a chapter select. It will not un-file a dialogue the autosave already wrote. Use it when a map or consume-rift state is wedged, then verify Steam files.
Named launch-week battle bugs that Patch 1 claimed to fix: freeze after some victories, movement on the bottom half of Emberworks, reload/rethink in the Landfill fight with wounded casters (Flaming Out), and trouble after Consume Rift in Elderhold. If those still happen, you are either on Patch 0 or you need Reset Battle plus a bug report with BuildID.
Closed in Patch 3, still open after
- Chat / conversation history logs — Patch 3 (August 18) shipped the log. Reread, do not undo. Screenshot paperwork still helps if the panel is greedy. With the time-management setting on, swag and liability swaps also stop costing burnout.
- Manual save — still absent in launch reviews.
- Dismiss summons — this one did ship in Patch 2. Combat page: Summons.
- Typos — Patch 2 fixed some and admitted many remain.
