Cazian in Ledgerbound

Ben Starr's dangerously intriguing coworker — enemies-to-lovers energy with HR forms attached.

Cazian Guide

Cazian is billed as the dangerously intriguing, sultry coworker voiced by Ben Starr. Official carousel copy put him beside Prince Avarice, Jazz, and the Shareholders as a face you are supposed to fall for while Rayna denies a civilization-scale insurance claim. Launch reviews single Starr out as a highlight. That is enough to justify a dedicated page, and not enough to invent his chapter-by-chapter kit.

Treat this as a planning and tone guide. Mechanical numbers live in Builds once patches settle. Story spoilers stay in Walkthrough. Romance rules stay in How to Romance.

What public materials actually say

Studio posts describe Cazian as sultry and intriguing. Some preview writeups frame him with enemies-to-lovers energy and Vacari adjacency — an ancient enemy species that regenerates, tied to Hy’oth and the Weft. That framing is spicy and easy to over-read. Until you see the retail scenes, plan for:

  • A romanceable coworker on the same HR paperwork track as Jazz and Sylvie.
  • Combat presence on the always-deployed grid, so you will use him even if you are not dating him.
  • Tone that is hotter and more dangerous than Hobknob’s intern chaos, and less corporate-dom than the Shareholders.

If a preview called him Vacari, do not assume you should grief him off the map in every fight. Ledgerbound’s joke is that bureaucracy can legalize almost anything with the right form, including keeping a regenerating problem on the payroll.

Romance warnings that are not spoilers

Two male interests are described in launch coverage as monogamous: they must be the only romance in that playthrough. Public materials have not published a legally binding list of which two. If Cazian or Avarice (or another male coworker) presents a monogamy file, stop stacking poly partners. The rest of the polygamous roster can share Rayna if the paperwork is filed. That is the mechanic. It is also the joke.

Shareholder scenes have a separate consent problem called out by at least one critic: some board encounters are hard to reverse because of aggressive autosave. Cazian’s coworker track is billed with normal rebuff options in the same reviews that slam the Shareholders. Still save before a late-night Resterlude if you are unsure. The game’s copy says you are stuck with decisions forever.

Put Cazian on the Romance Checklist if he is a priority, and budget him against Sylvie’s late join and Jazz’s early availability.

Combat habits

You will not bench him. Cover his element, spend actions so he gains EXP, and use HR objectives that match his range. If his story identity is tied to Vacari regeneration, expect maps that punish killing the wrong thing at the wrong time — read Vacari before you treat every immortal as a loot pinata.

Stamps still want Efficiency, Risk Mitigation, and the third bureaucratic verb the combat trailer refuses to name politely. Dating Cazian does not auto-complete Certificates of Mastery.

Where he sits in the office sitcom

Rayna is the adjuster. Jazz is HR. Avarice is royalty doing shareholder cosplay. Cazian is the coworker who makes the dating-sim pitch feel like a prestige guest star. Starr’s performance is the reason some players buy the game; do not skip his onboarding because the prologue already introduced a hat rack and a dragon manager.
