Summons Guide

Ledgerbound’s battlefield is a small Fire Emblem–like grid with a full party always deployed. Extra bodies still appear. Launch coverage and Patch #1’s known-issues list treat summons as units you can put on the board that do not always leave when you want them to. Patch #2 (August 16, 2026) added a dismiss summons button so those guests can fail their performance review and clock out. This page collects what public reviews actually named — Hat Rack as a summoned weapon, Grigsby as a hit-absorbing gentleman — and what the two launch hotfixes changed. It does not invent damage tables.

Read it beside Battle Setup, A.R.T.E., and Hat Rack. If your complaint is the resterlude clock rather than a dummy on a tile, go to Time and Burnout.

Why summons exist in an insurance tactics game

Rayna thinks in claims files. Reviews describe her recreating fatal battles with tabletop tokens. Summons fit that joke: you are not only moving coworkers, you are putting office objects and comic specialists onto the same stamp map. Gaming Furever’s combat recap highlights a favorite kit — conjuring a gentleman named Grigsby whose job is to stand there and take a hit. RPGamer notes that Rayna’s best friend is the office hat rack, which she ends up summoning as a weapon. Those are two different guest types: a dummy that soaks, and furniture that becomes a tool. Do not collapse them into one stat block.

Because the party is always on the field, a summon is extra occupancy on an already compact map. Checkpoint’s review even found some boards cramped with the named roster alone. A dummy that stays after its joke is spent can block a flanking tile you needed for a Plant matchup or an HR stamp. That is why Patch 1 logged “no way to dismiss summons, even if they fail performance reviews” as a known issue, and why Patch 2 shipped the button.

Patch 1: the known issue

Patch #1 — Launch Hotfix (August 14, 2026) fixed several battle freezes (post-victory hangs, Emberworks bottom-half movement, Landfill wounded-caster reload, Consume Rift in Elderhold) and Elderstone audio. In the same note the studio listed issues that were not fixed that day. One line was summons: you could not send them away. Treat that as launch-week fact, not as current client behavior if you have Patch 2.

If a summoned unit still will not leave after you update, verify files, then use Reset Battle from title-screen settings — Patch 1 reminded players that the button exists when a save misbehaves after a depot. Details: Saves and Display & Settings.

Patch 2: dismiss, then play the map

Patch #2 — Time Toggle Hotfix added the dismiss control alongside windowed mode and the time-management setting. Use it when:

  • Grigsby (or another dummy) has already eaten the hit you summoned him for, and he is now a traffic cone on a stamp route.
  • Hat Rack’s weapon form is occupying a sigil you need for a living unit.
  • A summon failed its “performance review” — the studio’s joke — and is worse than an empty tile.

Dismissing is not a second rewind. Rewind and battle setup still exist for turn-order mistakes. Dismiss is occupancy control. Do not spend a Resterlude replaying a map solely because a dummy stood on the wrong square if the live client can send it home mid-fight.

Tactical habits that do not need invented numbers

  1. Preview the board before you conjure. Compact maps punish extra bodies more than Fire Emblem benches do. If the victory tile is a choke, a dummy can be a doorstop or a blockade.
  2. Count optional stamps first. Three side objectives share the same turn budget. A summon that soaks a counter can save a no-loss stamp; a summon that lingers can cost a turn-limit stamp. Read the live objective text — we will not invent the three phrases.
  3. Element still applies to living units. A.R.T.E. is Water > Fire > Plant > Water. A dummy does not replace coverage on Sylvie or Aura.
  4. Vacari regeneration does not care that you brought furniture. Vacari still return. Clear the story win before you treat a summon as a personality win.
  • Difficulty — Uninsured is gone after Patch 2; remaining notches still tax bonding if you drop after a wipe.
  • Patch Notes — full launch-week table.
  • Combat Hub — stamps, Certificates, and the official combat trailer.
